For several years I worked in the bowels of the beast, going five floors down to retreive my car. A ten at night the area around Hopkins Plaza still baked like a brick and I hurried to get up to speed to stave off the feeling of suffocation. Ten minutes later, all windows down. I&amp;#39;d be plunging down 9 Mile Hill, descending into a dark paradise of cool, moist fragrant air and mist, hushed with tree whispers and river murmur. Mercy. I felt like stripping naked and thanking God everynight. I usually stopped in the Pheonix (fully clothed) for a beer instead, but I&amp;#39;ll never forget this and so many other intense pleasures of coming home to Ellicott City. Thanks for the memory. This one&amp;#39;s a keeper.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2303468624303726699/1949955705960189228/comments/default/3159601847137485426'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2303468624303726699/1949955705960189228/comments/default/3159601847137485426'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.ellicottmills.com/2009/08/fog-in-valley.html?showComment=1255195113476#c3159601847137485426' title=''/><author><name>billywhiskers</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/09663693534765288669</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.ellicottmills.com/2009/08/fog-in-valley.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2303468624303726699.post-1949955705960189228' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2303468624303726699/posts/default/1949955705960189228' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1371786261'/></entry></feed>
