Winter's Cold Embrace

Snow, and lots of it have covered the region. How well I remember the snowy, slushy, cold days in the old town. Lazy days that we didn't get out much, because all roads leading out of town are uphill. We all would congregate in some local eatery for some coffee and newspaper, and hang around long enough for lunch. People would come and go, each in turn looking for a hot drink or comradery. Still, cold, and yet made warm by the friendly interaction of locals as they went about trying to make connections. I imagine it is still the same, just different people. I would like to stay somewhere in the old town when there is going to be a good snow, just to experience it again. Perhaps it would not be the same, because now I would be a stranger.
